STATE SOCIETY OFFICERS’ SECTION By C. R. Lawrence, D. D. S., Chairm an, Enid, O klahom a
N EW section, th e S tate Society Officers’ Section, was added to th e N ational D ental Association by th e H ouse of D elegates a t the K ansas City meeting. The object of this section is to bring together each year the officers of the different S tate societies, for the discus sion of m a tte rs pertaining to th e welfare of the S tate organization and to put the S ta te officers in closer personal touch w ith each other, as well as w ith the N ational officers. Much of the efficiency of any S tate d en tal society depends upon its officers, and it is expected th a t these annual con ferences will serve to greatly increase th e w orking efficiency of the different S tate organizations, which a t the present tim e is wide and varied. T hrough it will be brought about a general exchange of annual program s, bulletins, etc., so th a t th e officers of each S tate society will be kept in touch w ith th e workings of every other S tate society, thereby stim ulating us all to
g rea ter activity. T here is a possibility to bring about through this section a closer unification of our dental laws and many other things th a t require individual action, before we can accom plish con certed action.

We wish to call the attention of the m em bers of the N ational D ental Associ atio n to the fact th a t according to the By-Laws only those who have paid th eir d ues fo r 1913, w hich were $5.00, will receive th e N. D. A. transactions for th a t year. W e also would im press upon th e mem bers th a t 1914 dues ($1.00) are to be p aid to th e general secretary through

M embership in th is section is composed of the president, vice-president, secre taries and trea su rers of the co n stitu en t societies. All m em bers of this section shall re tain th eir active m em bership for one year afte r th eir official connection with th eir respective societies, and shall th e re afte r be honorary m em bers of th is section. All past presidents of S tate societies shall be honorary m em bers of th is sec tion. H onorary m em bers to have all th e privileges of active m em bers except a vote.
W e have been notified by the chair man of the National Clinic Comm ittee that Progressive Clinics of a high standard w ill he given by all star clinicians w ithout exception, at the Rochester meeting.
