A new leg wrap from Australia, Protekta Wrap, provides protection and support. Made of neoprene elastic construction, Protekta does not shrink or lose its shape. It resists cutting and ripping. Protekta Wrap has a unique L-shaped
design with multiple velero fastening strips that securely fasten and interlock the whole leg wrap as a complete support and protective unit. The L-shaped vertical tendon shield extends from below the knee to below the fetlock. It has a soft and comfortable medical plush interior. Wraps are labeled "Nearside" for left side legs and "Offside" for right side legs. According to a company spokesperson, Protekta can be used when working the horse in water, mud or when swimming as it does not become waterlogged or heavy and will not slip. Protekta does not absorb water and does not add weight to the lower leg to cause imbalance at speed.
