Electronic pulsed metering pump provides world class performance Neptune Chemical Pump’s Series PX electronic pulsed metering pump features a revolutionary design that eliminates the need to change power supply to match the source voltage. This, the company believes, is the world’s first metering pump to operate at any voltage from AC90 to 264V and 50/60 Hz. The unit provides reliable accurate, injection of a wide range of liquids, including chemicals, nutrients and disinfectants. The PX pump offers high accuracy, with a low flow rate injection starting at 0.1 ml per minute. The number of pulses per minute can be set from 0 to
Available in three varieties, ranging from a capacity of 11 gpd to 38 gpd, the Series PX is of compact design. A rotating pump head that can be mounted remotely for tight-fit areas. The unit is also suitable for outdoor service with its dust-proof, UV and water#resistant enclosure.

CAT Pumps says it has responded to the ever-increasing demand for pump longevity, by expanding its 3 16 SS product line with both cast and block-style models. The product family is designed for intense, continuous-duty applications such as salt-water reverse osmosis systems, industrial wastewater treatment, salt-water high-pressure ship hull blasting, clean-room sanitizing, CO, parts cleaning or energy conservation misting. All models offer near maintenance-free operation, and incorporate long life components as standard. CONTACT CAT Pumps, 1681 94’h Lane NE, Minneapolis, MN 55449, USA. Taking the lead with polyurethane composite seals
Stainless centrifugal pumps run more quietly, smoothly
Economos is claiming to have taken the lead in the manufacture of elastomeric composite seals through the further development of its CNC seal machining capability.
A new line of centrifugal pumps featuring stainless steel housings and durable composite impellers has been introduced by Berkeley Pumps. Designated the SSCX Series, the pumps are available in horsepowers from % to 2% and with TEFC or ODP motor types. Designed for temperatures up to 185”F, the pumps provide high-head performance, quiet operation and corrosion-resistant dependability in a variety of applications.
Composite seals are traditionally produced in various of grades of PTFE which provide many characteristics necessary for efficient sealing. Economos itself claims to produce class leading products of this type. However in certain applications elastomeric versions are preferable, due to their superior static pressure holding capability and ease of fitting. Most seal manufacturers employ injection moulding for seal production, but this severely restricts the materials that can be used, the size range available and requires tooling. A wide range of industries use composite seal designs, mostly for external or piston seals using IS0 7425 housings. These housings are compact in nature and enable material, space and money to be saved.

can also be automatically controlled in response to the pulses generated by a water meter contact.

Economos’ new development gives its machined composite seals several major advantages over injection moulding. Any size of seal up to 2500 mm in diameter can be produced and made available on Fast-track delivery without incurring tooling charges. The seals can be produced from four different versions of its proven Ecopur polyurethane material. This material family has been known to outperform commercial grades of elastomers being used by conventional seal manufacturers. Machined composite seals using Ecopur can, for example, be specifically tailored for use at either extreme low temperatures, or with media up to 110°C. Other variants can also be employed for low friction requirements as well as for water hydraulics or for specific industry compliances such as the tough US FDA regulations. A stainless steel housing provides maximum corrosion resistance in water either chemical or applications. Quiet operation is assured by a smooth flow path. A separate compartment for the controls and switches seals out any dirt and moisture, making service faster and increasing reliability. A mechanical shaft seal featuring precision-lapped and highly polished carbonceramic, stainless steel construe tion also helps to deliver long-life reliability. Three seal options meet a wide variety of application needs.
The impeller is precision moulded from Noryl composite material for perfect balance and lasting quality. Ultra-smooth flow ports maximize performance and efficiency.

Standard drainlvent ports make priming and draining faster and easier. Depending on pump size, inlet pipes are either 1% or l’h inch. and outlets are either 1 or 1 % inch. At 3600 ‘pm, the six in the SSCX Series pumps produce flow rates from 40 to 95 gpm at heads from 20 to 50 ft.
