This issue is dedicated to Stanford Moore. He and his close collaborator, William Stein, made revolutionary contributions to the analysis of proteins. Moore’s work was of great importance in the rapid development of present day protein sequencing and amino acid analysis. He had a great interest in analytical methods. He was a friend and colleague whose counsel was greatly appreciated not only by the present Executive Editors, but by the late Alvin Nason, the Founding Editor of this Journal. We wish to thank all of Moore’s associates and friends for their cooperation in making this issue possible. NATHANO.KAPLAN WILLIAM D.MCELROY
