19 886. Cell fitted with quartz windows for spectroscopic studies at low temperatures. (France) The cell described is made of brass and has a capacity of approx. 5 ec. The quartz windows are 2 m m thick and a special washer made of indium is fitted to ensure air-tightness. Before cooling the cell is evacuated to 10 -~ torr. The absorption spectra of various organic liquids was studied at temperatures of the order of 77 °K when the substances become either clear solids or crystalline matrices. (France) w. J. s. J.
