when it is supplemented with social and medical benefits. Schistosomiasis is a problem of many developing countries and any programmes for provision of water in order to prevent exposure to cercariae-infested water must be affordable and sustainable by the community and must have water contact facilities. A safe water system was tested in an endemic area of Schistosomiasis haematobia in Kwaie, Kenya. Clean water was trapped from a spring in the hills and piped down into the village by gravitational force. We installed a communal stand pipe, public laundry, bathing shelter and a simple pool for the children. After the introduction of the communal water system there was a 77.4% reduction in the human contact with river water. The activities where significant decrease of frequency was noted included washing clothes, bathing, swimming and drawing water. There was no change in fording and fishing. The frequency of the use of safe water was three times higher than that in river before the introduction of piped water. These results indicate that local conditions-adapted water supply is ideai for promoting schistosomiasis control.

Tianxing Island, which is situated in the hub of river(the Yangtze River) and borderes on the Wuhan City, is an epidemic area of schistosomiasis. The geogramedicine of schistosomiasis was researched by us with method of reversed survey and inspection of the scene of an observation ares because it's the unitary of geography and the uni,yue of epidemiology. The formation of the Island and the occur of schistosomiasis was explored. The result shown which the pathogeny of schistosomiasis on the island stems from the proliferation of Oncomelania huuensis which propagetes near flood land( Fu River ) with snail and the inhabitant moves frcm the epidemic area of schistosomiasis (Huangpi County) into the island. We hold that the change of the topography and terrain, the landform and vegetation, the waterlevel and silt content, and the socioeconomic factor should interfere to epidemic condition of sohistosomiasis according to analysis of the epidemic meterial of schistosomiasls. It was calculable researched to the influence of Sanxia Irrigation Works in the Yangtze River to the spread of epidemic of schistosomiasis.
