The Pump Division of ACAL Auriema has extended its
range
of
nominal
s u b m e r s i b l e p u m p s with the introduction of s i x n e w 110 volt models. Pump applications range from c l e a n or s l i g h t l y d i r t y water with solid/abrasive material in suspension, t h r o u g h to t h i c k s l u d g e s , sewage a n d raw waste water containing fibrous materials a n d rags. For example, model 50GFRU is a vortex impeller p u m p with solids h a n d l i n g capability up to 30 mm. It provides flows to 8 l/s with m a x i m u m head of 9 m. Model 50GFSU has a n integral shredder mechanism for h a n d l i n g l o n g f i b r o u s m a t e r i a l a n d provides flows to 7 1/s with m a x i m u m head of 12.5 m. The all stainless model 40GFPU is suitable for corrosive l i q u i d s a n d s l u d g e s . It h a s m i n i m u m p u m p p a s s a g e of 12 x 23 m m a n d offers flows to 4 1/s a n d m a x i m u m head of llm. All models feature high quality silicon carbide a n d ceramic m e c h a n i c a l seals, oil b a t h lubrication, Class F i n s u l a t e d motors a n d o p t i o n a l float switches. 240V single p h a s e a n d 415V 3 phase models are also available.
Magdrive p u m p s give no-leak security After extensive p r o d u c t testing, two ranges of m a g n e t i c drive p u m p s have been i n t r o d u c e d by A l b a n y E n g i n e e r i n g Co Ltd. D e s i g n e d to give m a x i m u m protection against leakage, t h e y will h a n d l e h a z a r d o u s , high value or u l t r a - p u r e fluids in t h e v i s c o s i t y r a n g e 3 to 5000 cSt. One r a n g e covers b r a n c h sizes from one to four inches, w i t h c a p a c i t i e s f r o m 13 to 976 l/rain at up to 720 rev/ rain. The other is designed for s p e e d s u p to 1420 r e v / m i n , with sizes from half an inch to four inches, delivering 27 to 498 1/min. For normal applications, magnetic couplings from T o t t o n P u m p s are offered. These will operate at up to 60 °C when fitted with a polypropylene cover, or 80 °C with an
