Kirloskar Brothers buys Rodelta Pumps

irloskar Brothers Ltd’s subsidiary Kirloskar Pompen BV has completed the acquisition of Dutch pump manufacturer Rodelta Pumps International BV. Hengelo-based Rodelta makes API and non API pumps for oil & gas, pulp & paper, water, chemical and other applications.

Sulzer seals pump joint venture in Saudi Arabia

ulzer has finalized its previously announced joint venture with Saudi Pump Factory (see Pump Industry Analyst, February 2014). The Swiss engineering company signed an agreement in February 2014 to acquire a 75% stake in Riyadh-based Saudi Pump Factory. The joint venture will trade under the new name of Sulzer Saudi Pump Company. It will be the first complete manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia for a global pump manufacturer of API pumps. Saudi Pump Factory has 170 employees and achieved sales of approximately CHF23 million in 2014. The 25 000 m² facility in Riyadh produces centrifugal pumps to API and ASME standards and will be part of Sulzer’s global manufacturing network. A pump test facility is also available to test and confirm product standards. 16

The joint venture is in line with Sulzer’s focus on the oil and gas, power and water markets. It will enable the Swiss group to serve its Saudi Arabian and Gulf Cooperation Council customers with products to Sulzer standards from a local base. Sulzer will also offer a full range of aftermarket services for all Sulzer and Saudi Pump Factory products including repairs, spare parts, and retrofit solutions. New structure for Grundfos in Asia Pacific

anish pump manufacturer Grundfos has unveiled a new structure in the Asia Pacific to improve customer service, enhance organisational efficiency and drive the next phase of growth in the region. Grundfos’s Asia Pacific operations will now have four geographical clusters: East Asia, South Asia, Oceania and Indochina. The Grundfos Asia Pacific Regional (APREG) headquarters remain in Singapore with Okay Barutçu as regional managing director. The East Asia cluster comprises Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Taiwan and will be headed up by Rick Holland as area managing director. South Asia covers Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore and will be led by Leong Chee Khuan. Australia and New Zealand come under Oceania with Steen Holm Jensen as area managing director. Indochina will include business activities in India, Thailand, Vietnam and other emerging markets such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Grundfos is looking to double revenues in APREG over the next five years. With the reorganisation, Grundfos India will now report under the APREG structure. Grundfos is also planning to do more in the region for the region by expanding on product range, and increasing assembly and production facilities for local requirements. Grundfos will be focusing on the region’s emerging middle class and commercial and domestic building segments, while increasing its drive on energy-efficient products and water utilities for flood control and water treatment applications.
