T h e A ccep tan ce Program o f the Council applies to materials and d evices for w hich ev id en ce of safety and usefulness has been established by biological, laboratory, and/or clinical evaluation w here appropriate. D etails concerning the C oun­ c il’s A ccep ta n ce Program may be found in the C o u n cil’s publication G uide to D e n ta l Materials a n d D evices. T he C ou n cil’s program provides for classifi­ cation o f d ev ices as A ccep tab le, Provisionally A ccep ta b le, or U nacceptable. Products are re­ considered periodically, and decisions are sub­ ject to change at any tim e that a substantial am ount o f new eviden ce becom es available.
