Metal oxides: chemistry and applications

BOOKSHELF Catalysis of organic reactions Contains 63 papers presented at the 20th Conference on Catalysis of Organic Reactions held in S Carolina in Mar 2004. Covers: hydrogenation, oxidation, acid-base catalysis, novel concepts, and organic synthesis. JR Sowa, Jr, 2005, CRC Press, Boca Raton, ISBN 08247-2729-0, 574 pp, £115

O N

A multi-authored monograph, with 41 contributors from 12 countries. “The principle objective is to examine only metal oxides that are most attractive from the catalytic point of view, and most specifically transition metal oxides”. The second half of the book is entirely devoted to catalysts. The title is misleading, it should have made it clear that this is really a book about transition metal oxide catalysts.
