This volume brings together contributions for specialists on all aspects of the surface science of metals, semiconductors and insulators. It includes selected papers from the Institute of Physics 8th Interdisciplinary Surface Science Conference held in Liverpool in March 1989. The main topics are: structure of clean and absorbate-covered surfaces: characteristics of surface reactions and dynamics; mechanisms of growth and catalysis. This four-volume work presents a comprehensive and timely review of gonadotrophin-releasing hormones (GnRH) analogues and their use in the treatment of a variety of diseases. The various different GnRH analogues have been used to inhibit the production of gonadal hormones and to treat hormone-responsive cancers. Volume 1 treats the basic aspects of GnRH analogues, ranging from the chemistry through mode of action at the cellular and molecular level and pharmacokinetics to therapeutic formulations.
