Louis.
Bhaskar is to be congratulated on the concise and clear manner in which this book is written and in which he managed to include so much information. While the title of this volume acknowledges that it is a synopsis of oral pathology, there are 325 illustrations, important bibliographies, and an 1excellenl index. The book is intended for practitioners and students of dentistry. The illustrations are taken from the files of the Department of Oral Pathology of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, from the Medical Illustration Serricc% of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and from the author’s personal c*olloction. The classification of oral lesions according to clinical manifestations occupies the first 75 pages of the book. This should prove of great clinical value, since it. out, lines the usual locations where the lesions occur, the usual age and sex of the: patient, the clinical and roentgenologic features, the treatment favored, and the prognosis. The pages on which each lesion is discussed are then indicated. This feature of the book makes for easy reference. The cha, pter on developmental disturbance of jaws, dentition, and individual teeth is one that will prove of a special interest to orthodontists. Another chapter in which orthodontists will be particularly interested is the one on malformations. Altogether, over 160 oral pathologic lesions are classified and presented in summary. The book can be heartily recommended. Your

This book is one of a series of careers in depth. Books on other professions have already been published, and some are in the process of preparation. The value of Dr. Cohen’s book lies as much in the manner in which it is written as it, does in the fact that it covers the subject succinctly but completely. The book is written for the precollege student who is beginning to think seriously of a professional career.
