Extended Abstract A new type of parallel and distributed approach to search for optimal solutions is described in the presentation. It is neither gradient-guided search nor local search technique. The new search technique is called synthetic optimization approach of combining regional guided order principle and biological evolution strategies (GOBE). The GOBE approach integrates order principle with biological evolution strategies and adopts respective advantages of GESA (Guide Evolutionary Simulated Annealing) algorithm and Darwin and Boltzmann (D&B) strategies. The local and global competitions and regional guidance are retained, and the D&B strategies are in corporate in the local competitions for the purpose of judging whether Metropolisian iterative process is stable. So GOBE approach could solve optimal problems rapidly and stable. We demonstrate the GOBE technique with two examples: one is an ore-burden problems of an Iron & Steel Corporation, and the other is the gasoline blending problem which is used in many papers as a benchmark. It outperfonns other optimization methods.
