Topic 9: Sexual Dysfunctions ease. This study shows that if individuals are to progress to a cardiovascular event, this may occur within 5 years. This provides general practitioners to introduce preventative care. Since erectile dysfunction affects 2 thirds of patients with cardiovascular disease, all health professionals should be screening these patients.

T09-O-21 Pure hypertriglyceridemia might be associated with erectile dysfunction: a pilot study D. Justo1, Y. Arbel1, A. Steinvil1, S. Zarka2, N. Saar1, M. Kinori1, G. Brenner2, R. Heruti3. 1Department of Internal Medicine D, Sourasky Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel; 2Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps, Tel-Aviv, Israel; 3Sexual Rehabilitation Clinic, Reuth Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel Introduction: The association between erectile dysfunction (ED) and hypertriglyceridemia is still debatable. Aim: To study prevalence and severity of ED in young men with very high levels of triglycerides. Methods: Enrolled were men who went through routine health checks including full lipid profiling and completion of the Sexual Health Inventory for Men questionnaire (SHIM). Very high levels of triglycerides were defined as ≥ 500mg/ dl. The control groups consisted of men with very high levels of LDL cholesterol defined as ≥ 190mg/dl and men with normal cholesterol levels. Excluded were men with diabetes, ischemic heart disease, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ≥ 60 mg/dl, and mixed hyperlipidemias. Results: Included were 88 men, aged 35.9 ± 7.1 years (range: 25-51 years): 21 men with pure severe hypertriglyceridemia (triglyceride levels ≥ 500mg/dl and non-HDL cholesterol ≥ 189mg/dl), 34 men with pure severe hyperlipidemia (LDL cholesterol levels ≥ 190mg/dl and triglycerides ≥ 199mg/dl), and 33 men with normal cholesterol levels. No significant differences were found between these groups in terms of mean age and mean SHIM score. Prevalence of ED (i.e., SHIM score < 22) was higher among men with pure severe hypertriglyceridemia than among men with pure severe hyperlipidemia (42.9% vs. 29.4%) and men with normal cholesterol levels (42.9% vs. 24.2%), although these results were not significant (p = 0.2 and 0.4, respectively). Conclusions: Prevalence of ED might be increased in young men with pure severe hypertriglyceridemia, though a larger cohort with a longitudinal follow-up is needed to prove that hypertriglyceridemia is an independent risk factor for ED.

T09-O-22 Studying anger with psychodrama in the group psychotherapy of women with vaginismus and their husbands A. Kayir, C. Erden, N. Direk, S. Islam. Department of Psychiatry Istanbul School of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey

S123 Psychotherapy of sexual dysfunctions are conducted for 28 years in Istanbul Medical School Psychiatry Department Psychotherapy Center. Two third of our patients are the women with vaginismus, which is defined as involuntary spastic contraction of vaginal entrance which makes sexual intercourse impossible. This problem is not so rare in the cultures where virginity keeps its importance. Our experiences made us develop our specific treatment approach that we want to present. We use group psychotherapy and psychodrama for sex therapy. Working with pain and pleasure, psychodrama came to be our favorite tool with its opportunity of spontaneity, creativity and humour. In this presentation we aim to show the way we handle the traditional, cultural and religious issues and the anger in the marital relations in the treatment of seventeen couples.

T09-O-23 Which psychosocial factors play a role in treatment seeking for sexual problems: results from the Hospitalised and Outpatients Profile and Expectation P. Kirana1, E. Nakopoulou2, D. Hatzichristou1. 1Institute for the Study of Urological Diseases, Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece; 2Centre for Sexual And Reproductive Health, Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece Objective: To identify psychosocial factors associated with treatment seeking behavior for sexual problems. Methods: HOPES is a health survey investigating the relationship between psychosocial factors, patient-centeredness, symptoms’ and health perception in a random sample of hospitalized patients. The design included a representative cross section of each clinic and equal numbers of subjects in each of 6 design cells, defined by age (18-40, 41-60, 61-80 years) and gender Sexual functioning was measured by SCSF, and treatment seeking by a single question. Psychosocial factors were measured using 25 instruments, categorized as: 1) personality characteristics 2) self- beliefs, 3) health beliefs, 4) social support, 5) life satisfaction, 6) affect, 7) lifestyle and demographics. Analysis included loess significance tests. Results: The sample (N=454) consisted of 51.1% women and 48.9% men (mean age 50+16.5). 67.2% of women and 52.3% of men reported at least one SP. Within men and within women reporting a SP, 72.4% and 77% respectively had not sought treatment. Treatment seeking was significantly (p<0.05) associated with high sense of coherence, relationship satisfaction, general life satisfaction, and negative affect, as well as poor perceived physical and mental health. Conclusion: Out of a uniquely broad range of psychosocial factors, this study identified that only certain dimensions are associated with treatment seeking. Further research is needed to investigate their impact on treatment outcome.
