Lamborghini and Mitsubishi to develop carbon fiber technologies create a product that can enhance Lamborghini super sports cars in both their performance and their appearance,’ said Maurizio Reggiani, Automobili Lamborghini board member for research & development. ‘The ability to leverage this kind of lightweight material gives Lamborghini a competitive advantage that will benefit our
cars, as well as the production process, in the future.’ During the 2016 Geneva motor show Lamborghini exhibited the Centenario, which is available with a body made of fully exposed carbon fiber.
Composites’ strength and capacity make it the only manufacturer able to meet the CNG storage demand,’ said Ross Rowland, Chairman of ACES, LLC. ACES and Resonance Mode have experience with American railroads and have designed prototype CNG tenders, fuel storage, and trackside refueling systems with Hexagon Composites’ bulk-capacity TITAN cylinders. The joint venture’s primary focus will be the US market, but it will provide CNG rail solutions globally.
‘We see great opportunities in the global rail market, even with current oil prices,’ says Frank Ha¨berli, vice president, mobile pipeline, Hexagon Lincoln. ‘Long-term competitive fuel pricing and meeting reduced emissions requirements, especially for railroads operating in metropolitan areas, are very important market drivers for the adoption of CNG in this segment.’
Rubotherm’s instruments are based on a patented magnetic suspension balance that allows for contactless measurement of mass changes of samples in a closed reactor under controlled environments with high resolution and accuracy. Applications include gravimetric measurements over a wide temperature range, under vacuum or high pressures, using corrosives, toxics or vapors as reaction atmospheres.
‘Rubotherm brings a great new technology and capability to TA in the form of their patented magnetic suspension balance,’ said Terry Kelly, president of TA Instruments. ‘The application of this technology in TGA opens new markets for TA and further extends our world leading position in thermal analysis.’

Hexagon Composites wins Indonesian contract Hexagon Composites’ wholly-owned subsidiary Hexagon Raufoss has received an order from PT Autogas in Indonesia for 1000 fiber reinforced cylinders for the conversion of taxis and government vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG). Indonesia is quickly adopting CNG as an alternative to diesel and gasoline as a result of a government oil-to-gas campaign, the company says. The program’s goal is to reduce pollution and diversify fuel in the public transportation sector.
