This Magnox project is scheduled to run until 2020, with the delivery of the first two MAETP systems scheduled for 2018. The design phase of the contract will be completed at Veolia’s Richland, Washington offices, with subsequent fabrication of the units to be completed by UK-based firms under the supervision of the Veolia team.

ExxonMobil to invest US$20bn in US Gulf region manufacturing

xxon Mobil Corp is expanding its manufacturing capacity along the US Gulf Coast through planned investments of US$20 billion at 11 proposed and existing sites over a 10-year period. The company is strategically investing in new refining and chemical-manufacturing projects in the US Gulf Coast region to expand its manufacturing and export capacity. The Growing the Gulf expansion program, consists of 11 major chemical, refining, lubricant and liquefied natural gas projects at proposed new and existing facilities along the Texas and Louisiana coasts.

Amec Foster Wheeler wins Eni ‘green’ refinery conversion contract

ni SpA has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler a lump sum turn-key contract worth more than E50 million for the engineering, procurement and construction of a new steam reforming plant for hydrogen production to be built at its refinery at Gela, Italy. Amec Foster Wheeler has been hired by Eni as part of a major investment programme to convert its Italian refineries from ‘conventional’ to ‘green’ bio-refineries. The Amec Foster Wheeler scope of work includes engineering, procurement services

and supply of materials and equipment, construction and supervision, precommissioning, and training. The company will also support Eni during commissioning, start-up and testing of the new steam reforming plant.

TechnipFMC secures onshore contract in Ghana

NI Ghana E&P Ltd has selected TechnipFMC for the onshore part of the OCTP development of the Sankofa field, offshore Ghana. Under the contract, TechnipFMC will perform the project management, engineering, supply, construction and commissioning for the onshore receiving facilities located in Sanzule, which form part of the Gas to Power Plan. The contract will be mainly executed by TechnipFMC teams in Ghana. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2018.

Amec Foster Wheeler named owner’s engineer for Chilean LNG project

A

mec Foster Wheeler has won an owner’s engineer contract from GNL Quintero to provide engineering services for the expansion of its Quintero regasification terminal in Chile. Under the contract, Amec Foster Wheeler will participate in the engineering, procurement and construction bid evaluation, as well as providing engineering services. The expansion involves the construction of a third storage tank and additional equipment to increase the regasification capacity. Amec Foster Wheeler also served as owner’s engineer during the first expansion of the plant and LNG truck-loading facility. Regasification capacity of imported LNG at Quintero’s terminal was expanded in 2015 from 10 million cubic metres per day (MMm3/d) to 15 MMm3/d. This latest expansion will increase the terminal’s capacity to 20 MMm3/d.

GNL Quintero is the first landbased receiving, unloading, storage and regasification terminal of LNG in the southern hemisphere. It is a joint venture of Enap (20%), Enagás (40%) and Terminal de Valparaíso (40%).

Doosan to upgrade Indonesian power plant

D

oosan Heavy Industries & Construction and its consortium partner PT Hutama Karya have received a KWN470 billion order from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for the Muara Tawar Combined Cycle Power Plant in Indonesia. This project will convert the 1150 MW gas-fueled generator to a 1800 MW combined cycle power plant by fitting eight heat recovery steam generators and three steam turbines. Muara Tawar Power Plant is located 40 km east of Jakarta.

Veolia technology to treat effluent at Munksjö’s Tolosa mill in Spain

aper products manufacturer Munksjö has selected Veolia Water Technologies’ AnoxKaldnes MBBR process to treat effluent at its Tolosa mill in Spain. Munksjö is expanding the industrial wastewater treatment plant at the Tolosa mill in Guipúzcoa. The new installation, with a capacity of 200 m3/hour, will use AnoxKaldnes MBBR for biological treatment and Actiflo for ballasted water clarification and settling. These two Veolia proprietary technologies will allow for the removal of the dissolved chemical oxygen demand (COD) and the suspended particulate matter, obtaining a high-quality effluent, surpassing the current local standards for river discharge. Veolia’s solution includes the new generation of Z-MBBR carriers. The
