It p l a c e s v a s t g r a i n - p r o d u c i n g r e g i o n s in c h e a p c o m m u n i c a t i o n w i t h Odessa, t h e c h i e f p o i n t of e x p o r t , w h i l e t h e i m m e n s e coal fields of S o u t h e r n R u s s i a will c o m e into easier c o n n e c t i o n with t h e i n d u s t r i a l d i s t r i c t s of P o l a n d .
