VIROLOGY
The main theme of the conference is devoted to new vaccines and chemotherapy in prevention and treatment of viral diseases of man, animals, fish, and plants. The evening workshops and posters will include all aspects of comparative virology, from virus diagnosis to the basic and applied research in viral biotechnology. PIenary Sessions: (1) biotechnology, viral immunogens and immunogenicity; (2) genetically engineered virus vectors as vaccines; (3) vaccination with synthetic peptides; (4) viral vaccines; (5) molecular viral pathogenicity; (6) antiviral chemotherapy Workshops~ (1) quality control and standardization of viral vaccines; (2) anti-idiotypes as immunizing antigens; (3) monoclonal antibodies-treatment of virus diseases; (4) monoclonal antibodies - diagnosis and characterization of viruses; (5) new approaches to the rapid diagnosis of viruses; (6) cell-mediated immunity and interferon; (7) carrier-mediated antiviral compounds; (8) poliomyelitis - disappearance and return; (9) century of rabies vaccination; (10) viral hepatitis - progress; (1 I) rotaviruses - new developments in prevention; (12) slow neurological diseases -unconventional viruses and prions; (13) ‘viral satellites - prospects for use in biological control of plant diseases;
