ANNOUNCEMENTS AMERICAN PSYCHOSOMATIC SOCIETY THIRTEENTH ANNUAL MEETING The American Psychosomatic Society will hold its Thirteenth Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Plaza Hotel in Boston on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, 1956. The Program Committee would like to receive titles and abstracts of papers for consideration for the program no later than December 1, 1955. The time allotted for the presentation of each paper will be twenty minutes. T H E ACADEMY OF PSYCHOSOMATIC MEDICINE The Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine will hold its Second Annual Meeting on October 6th, 7th, and 8th, 1955 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The subject of this year's Scientific Program is "The Psychosomatic Aspects of Drug Administration." There is no registration fee. Guests may attend the Banquet. Speakers include, among others, the following: Lester L. Coleman, M.D., who will talk on " W o n d e r Drugs - - A Psychosocial Phenomenon"; Harry Kozol, M.D., discussing "Epilepsy: Modern Treatment with Drugs as a Keystone of Psychosomatic Method"; George B. Koelle, M.D., presenting "The Clinical Neuro-pharmacology of Mescaline and D-lysergic A c i d " ; Joseph E. F. Riseman, M.D., commenting on "Experiences with Placebos in the Treatment of Angina Pectoris"; Mark D. Altschule, M.D., presenting "Ideas Abdut the Metabolism of Epinephrine"; and M. Murray Peskin, M.D., discussing the "Psychosomatic Aspects of Drugs ill Allergy Practice."
