TOURISM IN REVIEW

(LRS) A Comparative Study of User Attitudes Towards Development and Facilities in two Contrasting Natural Recreation Areas. By J. Wohlwill and Harry Heft. Journal of Leisure Research (1601 North Kent Street, Arlington, Virginia 22209, USA), Voi. 9, No. 4,1977, pp. 264-280. Two natural-recreation areas in the state of Pennsylvania that differ in the amount of development that each has undergone, the Pine Creek and the Poconos areas, were the subject of comparative study of users of these areas. This research was designed to explore the hypothesis that attitudes towards development, and towards the provision of facilities and amenities, were more familiar among users of more highly developed areas.
