TABLE II QUANTIFICATION OF CHOLERA TOXIN (CT)-DEPENDENT AND -INDEPENDENT ADP-RIBOSYLATION IN MOUSE AND RAT HEART MEMBRANES Mouse and rat heart membranes were analyzed from Laemmli gels of ADP-ribosylation reactions. The calculated magnitude of incorporation of label in the 42 kDa band in the absence of cholera toxin for membranes prepared in the presence of EDTA was assigned a value of 100%. All other readings for membranes prepared in the presence or absence of EDTA were normalized to this value, and expressed as percent. Analysis shown here is one of four separate pairs of gels, all qualitatively similar. Concentrations of GTP and Gpp[NH]p were 100 btM each. Addition to ADP-ribosylation
