Call for Papers

The Leadership Quarterly, 2012 Yearly Review Theoretical and methodological advances in leadership Next year's Yearly Review for The Leadership Quarterly will focus on methodological advances in leadership research, especially those that are related to the advancement of leadership theory. Broadly speaking, what are sought are original contributions that develop or use methodology in a creative way to advance theory and/or theoretical thinking about leadership phenomena. Manuscripts that challenge the status quo, offer new approaches to common convention, or propose new ways of thinking about or studying leadership are particularly encouraged. Authors contemplating the submission of a manuscript for the 2012 Year Review are asked to first submit a short concept paper (ten pages maximum total) to C. A. Schriesheim that outlines the main content of their paper and highlights its contribution to leadership knowledge. Concept papers should be submitted directly to C. A. Schriesheim ([email protected]) and NOT submitted through the regular LQ EES. Submitted concept papers will be reviewed for feasibility, contribution, and adherence to the issue's theme. A set of the most suitable proposals will then be selected and invited to develop and submit complete article-length manuscripts. Invited manuscripts (only) will be submitted through the regular LQ EES (http://ees.elsevier.com/leaqua/) and will then be reviewed by the editorial review board and special referees selected for the issue. Constructive and developmental feedback will be provided and the authors asked to address whatever concerns have been raised about their works. Some flexibility with respect to manuscript length is possible, so that authors are encouraged to develop their ideas as fully as possible. Narratives, essays, reviews, and analyses (quantitative and qualitative)—and even new quantitative methods or extensions are all sought—as long as they help advance the understanding of leadership phenomena. The timetable for this issue is as follows: Deadline Concept papers submitted to issue editor ([email protected]) Feedback sent to authors and commissioning of papers Invited paper first drafts received (http://ees.elsevier.com/leaqua/) Reviews and decisions sent to authors Receipt of final manuscripts Submission of full issue to publisher
