One of the difficulties in assessing the effects of potentially increased paternal interaction with the remainder of the family made possible by the declining hours of work has been the improper mixing of the concepts, "family," and "home." This study describes the application of a Q-type factor analysis to the search for types of people who have similar patterns of leisure behavior. Like a hotel room-night, an airplane seat is a perishable commodity-but by offering substantial discounts on seats that would otherwise remain empty, the airlines have been able to attract more passengers. Data from interviews at five Tennessee state parks are combined with information from park records and the U.S. Census to analyze local employment and expenditure impacts of state park development.The findings reveal that for every ten park jobs, three to four additional jobs are created in the local area.
