Myasthenia gravis and related disorders: experimental and clinical aspects 12-15 April 1992, Washington, DC, USA Traditionally, these conferences have presented updated and important new information on the physiology and pathophysiology of the neuromuscular junction, normal and autoimmunity and on the relationship of these to the pathogenesis of myasthenia gravis. This conference will review recent pertinent information on the thymus, T cell maturation, MHC restriction, the acetylcholine receptor and peptide segments important to its immunogenicity and function. The parallel autoimmune disease of voltage-depen-
dent calcium channels - the Lambert-Eaton syndrome will be emphasized along with the congenital disorders of the acetylcholine receptor.. The neurohypophysis: a window on brain function 16-20 July 1992, Hanover, NH, USA This meeting represents t h e Fifth International Conference on the Neurohypophysis. Attention is focused on central vasopressin-neurons and oxytocin-neurons, and the influence that products of these neurons have on brain function and on the control of body homeostasis. State-ofthe art reviews in the following areas of research will be presented: (1) structure and circuitry; (2) phylogeny and biosynthesis; (3) release of neurohypophysial hormones; (4) mechanisms of action
and metabolism; (5) influence on behavior; (6) interactions with the immune system; (7) roles in homeostasis; (8) integration with other hormone systems.
