This book contains a synthesis of the very interesting field of the use of animals to study different biochemical, morpholo~~l and ~era~utic aspects of breast cancer. The first chapter is an overview of breast cancer and the following chapters include the most useful animals for the experimentation of breast cancer. The other chapters include irradiation and hormone administration, the normal anatomy and pathology of the rat mammary gland, the correlation of mammary tumour histology in different experimental conditions, as well as the relation of the pituitary gland and the liver. The book finishes with a general discussion on mammal cancer in different species. It contains interesting new info~ation, with a well documented bibliography, and would be very useful for researchers in breast cancer, oncologists, gynaecologists, general clinicians, biochemists, and physiologists.

This book corresponds to Volume 4 of the Serono Symposia series published by Raven Press and contains the most important advances carried out in pediatric endocrinology in the last five years. The book provides extensive information on most hormonal problems, including calcium metabohsm in children, Vitamin D, the pathology of ~ra~yroid hormones, different aspects of somatomedin, insulin and growth hormone, including divers aspects of the therapy.
The other chapters treat the role of prostaglandin in glucose homeostasis, the pathology of diabetes and the physiopathology of thyrotropin and thyroid hormones. There is also a very interesting chapter on congenital adrenal hyperplasia and the effects of gonadorelin analog for the different treatments, as well as valuable information on Cushing’s Syndrome in ACTH hypersecretion. This book is the 5th Cancer Research Workshop which was held in Grenoble, France in April 1985. It contains up-todate iRfo~ation in the most recent developments conceming the epidemiology of endometrial cancers, the detection and prevention, pathology and biology, prognostic factors, steroid hormone receptors and immunohistochemistry, and the treatment of different stages of endometrial cancer. The first chapter concerns statistical values in the incidence, survival and mortality of endometrial cancers. The other chapters concern the prevention and detection of different forms of endometrial cancer, with recent information on cytological studies and the diagnostic values of ‘Hysteroscopy Curettage’. There is an extensive analysis of the different receptors, particularly estrogen and progesterone receptors and the action of anti-estrogens, which is complete with the modern methodology on immunohistochemistry for the subcellular localization of the different receptors. The last part of the book treats all the possibilities of treatment of endometrial cancers including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormonotherapy. This book would be very useful for general clinicians, end~~nologis~, gynaecologists, oncologists, and advanced students in this field. It contains extensive, recent references in the different chapters.
