electrophoresis. Differentiation was observed by morphological criteria, Wright–Giemsa staining. Result: This compound inhibited growth and proliferation of K562 with IC50 value of 20 nM. The cell viability of K562 cells was also decreased by approximately 10%, 21% and 39% after treatment with a single dose of the drug (at IC50 value) at 48, 72 and 96 h, respectively. The effect of this compound on K562 cells were accompanied with differentiation toward monocyte/macrophage linage. Conclusion: Based on the present data, 2-amino-4-(3-bromo4,5-dimethoxy-phenyl)-3-cyano-4H-chromene seems to be a good candidate for further evaluation as an effective chemotherapeutic agent acting through induction of differentiation and apoptosis. E Poster – [A-10-1036-2] The G360t polymorphism in the APO AIV gene and lipid profile in Iranian population Halalkhor Sohraba, Mesbah-Namin Seyad AliResab, Azizi Fereidounc, Hedayati Mehdic, Daneshpour Maryam O. Sadat) Introduction: Apolipoprotein AIV gene (APO AIV) may play different roles in lipids modulation. The purpose of this study was to assess the association between Apo AlV polymorphism and lipid factors on high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels in a population of the Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study (TLGS). Materials and methods: Seven hundred subjects were selected randomly from the Tehran Lipid Glucose Study center. The aim of this study was to determine lipid profile and FBS levels . Genomic DNA was extracted and the region contains G360t polymorphism in the APO AIV gene was amplified by PCR and the polymorphism was reveled by SatI as restriction enzyme in RFLP. Results: All lipids related variables were significantly different in case and control groups, except apolipoprotein AVI and the allele frequencies of G and T alleles were 0.0764 and 0.9236, respectively and the relative frequencies of the apo AIV G and apo AIV T carriers in the case and control groups were 78.6%, 83.3% and 21.4%, 16.7%, respectively, T carriers being more frequent in the case group. Conclusions: The obtained data suggested that the common variation in G360t polymorphism in the APO AIV not significantly influence in plasma HDL-C levels and results of this study suggested that the combined HDL/LDLCholesterol Phenotype could be a selective phenotype for genetic analysis in this field. E Poster – [A-10-1124-1] The relation of microalbuminuria to subclinical myocardial dysfunction and strain/strain rate changes in hypertensive patient without overt heart disease Fazlinezhad Afsoona, Tabaei Samanehb, Hassanzadeh daloee Mehdia, Poorzand Hooraka, Alavi Maryamb a Cardiovascular Research Center, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran b Cardiology Department, Ghaem university Hospital, Mashad, Iran E-mail address: [email protected] (F. Afsoon) Introduction: The aim of this study was to address whether microalbuminuria could predict myocardial dysfunction in hypertensive patients without overt heart disease. Methods: We studied 40 patients with mild to moderate hypertension, with normal left ventricular (LV) function, and no evidence of valvular or coronary heart disease. Methods: Patients were divided in 2 groups basal on microalbuminuria status: group I: No microalbuminuria (n-32, ACR < 30), group II: microalbuminuria (n = 8, 30 < ACR < 300). Conventional 2dimensional and Doppler echocardiography was done. Peak systolic strain, peak systolic strain rate (SR), time to peak systolic strain and time to peak systolic strain rate (tSR) of 4 LV basal segments in apical views were obtained. Results: Conventional 2D and Doppler parameters were not different among the 2 groups, except E/A and grade of diastolic function, which were higher in microalbuminuria group (P < 0.05, respectively). There was not any relationship between microalbuminuria and peak systolic strain and peak systolic SR (P = 0/960 & P = 0/278, respectively). Time to peak strain and tSR was significantly higher in microalbuminuria group (P = 0/017, respectively). Conclusion: In hypertensive patients with preserved conventional measures of systolic function, time to peak strain and tSR detected subclinical LV systolic dysfunction, and microalbuminuria was associated with myocardial dysfunction in hypertensive patients without overt heart disease.
