Peter Cull

The temporomandibular joint (watercolour on board, 46X23-5 cm) is one of 20 works by Peter Cull that can be seen at an exhibition of paintings of human anatomy called "Body parts". The various aspects of the human body featured in the exhibition include the construction of a single cell, structure of a kidney, and dissection of the head and neck and other organs. In 1991, Peter Cull was appointed professor of medical art by London University (the first and only chair in the UK), and emeritus professor in 1993. The exhibition can be seen at Gosport Museum, Hampshire, UK, until Oct 26.
