There \vere lines of intluration with intervening zones of softening ant1 fluctuation. The fistulas exuded pus in which yello\v granules were sought for in vein. About twelve days later, pus was again evacuated from l)eneath the zygoma ant1 nly(~elilrnl was found in the pus for the first time. Yruicillin was given in doses of 2 million units tbily for right days and tllc>rl 1 rnillioll units daily for two weeks. Improvement was rapid. Cicatrization of the jaw relaxed.
