The UK NMR Discussion Group A history of the UK NMR Discussion group (NMRDG) has been compiled recently by Les Sutcliffe and John Lindon. This is a web-based archive which can be found at the following link – http://www.nmrdg.org.uk/History_of_the_NMR-DG/History_of_ the_NMRDG.html The site provides information on the early days of NMR spectroscopy in the UK and a history of the formation and evolution of the NMRDG to 2009. A full set of programs of the one day, and other short scientific meetings of the Group from 1964 is included. The Group also organised a series of international conferences in conjunction with the Royal Society of Chemistry from 1969 to 2003 and a full set of the programs of these meetings is also to be found

there. In addition most of the people who have held the office of Chairman have written short memoirs of their time in office and these are provided on the site. A number of distinguished magnetic resonance practitioners who were based in the UK and who are no longer with us, have obituaries provided. Finally a large library of photographs of people and equipment has been assembled. It is the intention to keep the site up-to-date as far as possible. The authors would be pleased to receive additional information and images for the history web site and also to be notified of any errors and omissions.
