THIRD INTERNATIONAL C O N F E R E N C E ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND E D U C A T I O N May 8-10, 1987, University of Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A.

The conference will emphasize the exchange of ideas among active researchers. The conference is hosted jointly by the Learning Research and Development Center and the School of Education. The sponsors include the British Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB). The Program Committee consists of Robert Glaser, Jill Larkin, Mashour Yazdani, Jeffrey Bonar, and Stellan Ohlsson. Invited speakers include John Seely Brown (U.S.A.), EUiott Soloway (U.S.A.), Richard Young (U.K.), and Yuichiro Anzai (Japan). Topics of interest

The conference will feature invited talks, panels, submitted contributions, and tutorials. The theme of the conference is "Beyond Task Analysis." The topics relevant to the conference include, but are not limited to, the following: - empirical and theoretical studies of learning, -strategies for teaching, - m e t h o d s for cognitive diagnosis, - evaluation of computer tutors, -architectures for computer tutors, - interface design.
