Professor Philip Rosenberg proposed a change of the Constitution in regard to the purpose of the Society so that those working with toxins of microbial origin be eligible for membership . After a long discussion. it was decided to submit a mail ballot concerning the change of Constitution to all full members. Article II (Purpose of the Society) presently reads as follows : "The purpose of the Society is to advance knowledge on the properties of the toxins and antitoxins derivedfrom the tissues ofplants and animals, and to bring together those scholars interested in these substances through a common Society" . It is proposed that it should read : "The purpose of the Society is to advance knowledge on the properties of toxins and antitoxins and to bring together scholars interested in these substances through a common Society". ANNUAL DUES FOR 1972-SUHSCRIPTiON TO TOXICON FOR 1973

Professor Philip Rosenberg opened the discussion on the annual dues for 1972 . He reported on arrangements with Pergamon Press to maintain for members of the Society the special reduced subscription rate of 10 US dollars for Toxicon, the official journal ofthe Society, though the price for nonmembers and libraries is 15 and 45 US dollars, respectively. He suggested that starting with 1972 the membership dues in the International Society on Toxinology should be 1750 US dollars which will include a subscription to Toxicon ; this was unanimously approved. Members may request that payment of annual dues be reduced. It is understood that partial payment will not allow the member to receive Toxicon at the reduced rate. 4TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF THE SOCIETY
