The 24-1nch metallizer which will be used for metallizing capacitor film, ~s capable of coating a 2 ft strip at a speed of 20,000 yards per hour (1000 feet per minute)--more than twice as fast as the earlier general purpose 15/12 model which they produced for the Plessey installation in Rumania last year. Torvac's order book is growing faster than thew factory expansion scheme and the temporary greenhouse has been rigged up with polythene sheeting inside the steel framework of the new factory extension building while the builders carry on with the cladding of the building round them.
