New CHA publication Thin film high vacuum deposition systems for the semiconductor industry are dascribed in a new publication released by CHA Industries. Featured is a lo-in. system with capacity of 144 wafers of 2-in. dia size, and one button operation, air-to-air. The automatic features of the CHA system include capacity for fully programmed three-stage deposition processing in which three separate metallization processes may be sequenced automatically after which the system shuts down the sources and heaters. Operators are required only to load, vent and unload the system. Wafters are carried in CHA patented rotary domes which provide high yield and through-put. Shadows, tunneling and micro-cracks are minimized by the CHA substrate holders’ constantly changing position with respect to the evaporant stream.
The domed substrate holders are manufactured in three standard sizes. The wafer varies with the size of the domes and the size of the wafers. Rectangular substrates are accommodated, also. CHA claim to have been a leader in high vacuum semiconductor processing equipment for more tha’n 10 years. CHA equipment is installed and operating throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the Orient. CHA Industries Circle number 56 on Reader Service card
Vacuum measuring instruments with process control facility Edwards High Vacuum (a division of BOC Ltd) have released a new publication (No. 07842) which gives details of their Capsulan vacuum gauges and the associated meters and remote relay units. The gauges, which provide measurement over the range I-50 or l-760 torr, have an electrical output making them suitable for all process control applications. The gauges are barometrically compensated and measure total pressure irrespective of gas composition. They are virtually unaffected by corrosion and contamination from substances contained in the process gases. Edwards High Vacuum Circle number 57 on Reader Enquiry Service card
If you are short of an eye-lash Equipment ranging from a single eye-lash for delicate specimen manipulation up to sophisticated high vacuum freeze etching plant is illustrated in the new catalogue introduced by Balzers High Vacuum Ltd of Berkhamsted, Herts. Balzers Union equipment is of particular interest to the electron microscopist and contains many new tools and practical small apparatus for use in specimen preparation. This complements the existing Balzers range of coating plants, analytical instruments, electron microscopes, vacuum measuring instruments, vacuum furnaces and other high and ultra high vacuum systems.
