MDL:
a new range of air-cooledcondensers
Each of the 13 basic models in the M D L range can be supplied with 6, 8 or 12 pole motors capable of operation in either Star or Delta configuration. Dramatic savings in running costs can thus be implemented simply by switching between day and night running conditions. Seade have achieved noise levels as low as 34 dBA. Versatility is the keynote of the M D L as multi-sectioning, subcooling, head pressure control, axial fans, coil material alternatives and fluid cooling applications can be specified on all models. The M D L range completes Searle's MD series. With MDS, M D M and MDB already well established, the series now covers the entire span from 6.6 to 1184 kW. The performance of these condensers, both in terms of capacity and noise levels, is superior to Searle's DD4 range, which has now been discontinued. The MD series will continue to be complemented by the well-established and successful RDD condensers. Seade Manufacturing Company, Newgate Lane, Fareham, Hants PO14 1AR, UK.
Designated the RVL series, it has been developed to cater for a wide range of applications, although it is expected that they will be particularly suitable for use in industrial boiler installations and commercial air conditioning systems. The flow rates are up to 60 m 3 h - 1 with heads up to 228m. The maximum working pressure is 22 bar. Servicing of any pump in the series is made particularly easy by the fact that only one mechanical seal and two 'O' rings are employed. In addition, a common key-way with a locking nut is used to speed the positive location of the impdler assembly. Furthermore, a split coupling is used to connect the pump and motor shaft to facilitate quick and convenient motor removal without disturbing the installation. The pumps are constructed almost entirely from stainless steel chosen for its corrosion-resistant and weight-saving properties. However, for added durability both the base and adapter are cast iron. Depending on the operating pressure the selfadjusting, water-lubricated mechanical seal is produced in carbon/ceramic or carbon tungsten. Vertical multi-stage pumps Godwin Pumps has recently introduced a new 13 model series of vertically mounted, rotary vane, multi-stage, centrifugal pumps which sets new standards in terms of serviceability and durability while at the same time being both quiet in operation and particularly compact.

Eliwell EWPC digital electronicthermostat
Electronic thermostat from Eiiwell The new Eliwell EWPC digital electronic thermostat is designed around an 8-bit microprocessor. It provides digital display of set point, sensed temperature and switch differential. The set point display and set point adjustment are achieved through three membrane switches located behind a polycarbonate panel. By pressing the 'set' button, the set point is displayed. Simultaneously pressing the 'up' and 'down' button adjusts the set point. To avoid unauthorized adjustment, a further touch pad on the rear of the instrument allows upper and lower adjustment limits to be programmed or for a single setting to be locked in. The switch differential can be adjusted in a similar way, using another touch pad at the rear of the instrument, and the 'up' and 'down' buttons on the facia. In addition, the differential can be altered to operate above the set point, or below it. This allows the thermostat to be applied for both cooling or heating applications. The single pole, double throw switch is rated at 10 A resistive for 240 V a.c. The EWPC is available in two temperature ranges -55°C to +99°C with 1° resolution, and - 9 . 9 ° C to +99.9°C with 0.1 ° resolution. The electronics are housed in a compact 74 x 32 x 67 mm ABS case, and in the event of a power failure the programmed settings are retained for up to 10 years. A variety of sensor styles can be chosen. Thermofrost Cryo Ltd, Robert Fawkes House, Rea Street South, Birmingham B5 6LB, UK.
