French set for Cannes meeting

The French secretariat has now finished its plans for the eighth international ndt conference, 8 WCNDT, at Cannes 6-11 September. Delegates must register with the secretariat direct or through their national ndt societies. The conference is divided into five sections for hotformed products, weldments, instrumentation and physics, non-metals, in-service testing and training and safety. An exhibition will remain open throughout the conference.

Dr Leslie Mullins, a radiographer and technical adviser in Marketing at Kodak Ltd, has won recognition from the British ndt institute (BINDT) and from the Society of Engineers. BINDT has elected him a fellow for services to ndt. At about the same time the Society of Engineers nominated him for the Premium Award for a lecture on photography in industry last year. Society officers presented the prize in the form of books earlier this year.

Testers re-equip training school Radiation protection man gets leading safety post John Dunster, an assistant director at the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) is to be director of nuclear safety and deputy director general of Britain's industrial safety authority.
