4741690 PROCESS FOR COMBUSTION OR DECO~S~ON OF POLLUTANTS AND EQ~PMENT ~REFOR Rjor Heed, S 412 61 Gsweded Process to ascertain combustion and/or decomposition of gaseous and/or by air or other gas carried particulate pollutants. The invention makes possible an ef%ctive and safe ~ombus~on and/or d~amposit~on of pohutants not desired to escape into the environment. The pollutants are fed into a combustor (1) in which the pollutants are self combusted and/or are made to self decompose, whereby in the combustor outgoing gas is made to heat ingoing gas and/or by air or other gas carried particulate pollutants through counter current regenerative heat exchange. The invention also refers to an equipment for accomptishment of the process.
4741691 WASTE GAS BURNER Joseph L Messimer A waste gas burner is provided with a flare stack for receiving waste or hazardous gas, a chamber for receiving said gas from said flare stack, said chamber having variable openings for the passage of air, apparatus for increasing the velocity of the gas in the chamber creating a vacuum whereby ambient air is drawn into the chamber and mixed with the gas, a flare tip on said chamber for the passage of mixed gas and air and an ignitor adjacent the flare tip for igniting the gas mixture of gas and air.
Catalyst for the reductive conversion of nitrogen oxides, optionally accompanied by sulfur dioxides, in waste gases, produced by the impregnation of a support, for example, a Ti02 support, with a vanadium a&oxide, and treatment of the impregnated support in the oxygen~onta~~i~g gas current. The catalyst brings about a conversion of the nitrogen oxides even at a relatively low temperature of 150 degrees to 350 degrees C.
4753785 METHOD OF PURGING OF WASTE GASES Theodo Kisters, Krefeld, Federal Republic Of Germany assigned to Deutsche Babcock Anlagen Aktiengesellschaft A method of purging waste gases by adding to the gas, while it flows through an absorber, a neutralizing agent, such as lime, together with a liquid substance under such conditions that the liquid is evaporated and that a dry salt is left as reaction product. The absorption results in a reaction of the noxious compounds in the waste gases with the neutralizing agent, whereby dry sahs are formed which are removed from the absorber. The same neutrahzing agent in the form of the aqueous solutian or aqueous suspension may be used as the liquid substance. The liquid substance is supplied into the absorber downstream of the neutralized agent in the solid pulverized state.
4755366 PROCESS FOR CLEANING HOT WASTE GAS OCCURING IN VARYING AMOUNTS Christia Schwartzbach, ME522 Iov, Denmark assigned to A/S Niro Atomizer
4742037 CATALYST FOR REDUCTIVE CONVERSrON OF ~ROGEN OXIDES IN WASTE GASES Alfons Baiker, Peter Dollenmeier, Marek Glinski, Opfikon, Switzerland assigned to Lonza Ltd
The ability of a waste gas cleaning spray drying absorber to tolerate substantial variations in the amount of waste gas to be cleaned is enhanced by a system which provides for introduction of any amount ofwaste gas that would overload the gas disperser(s) of the spray drying absorber, into said absorber via auxiliary apertures in the walls thereof thereby bypassing the gas disperser(s). A plant for cleaning fluctuating amounts of waste gas comprises a control system based on measurement of gas flow to the gas disperser(s).
