This is followed by questions concerning the application of these basic principles to patient care, and necessary information concerning hospitalization. The student i s given opportunity to make nursing diagnosis and immediate and longterm plans, both during hospitalization and when preparing the patient for discharge. Each case concludes with a bibliography pertinent to the subject discussed.

Each study area is a complete and independent case; organized so the student i s first introduced to the patient as an individual member of a family living within the community. Next are the etiology and early signs and symptoms of diseases-the student then knows what has occurred up to the time of hospital admission.
