Designed primarily for orthopedic surgery, the system's catheter is inserted with an attached trocar and connected to a disposable cardiotomy reservoir creating a closed wound drainage system. The potential for infection of patient and hospital personnel is minimized and blood collection can continue from surgery into the postoperative period.
