XPV Water Partners invests in Holland Pump

C

anada’s XPV Water Partners, a growth equity investor focused on water treatment and management, has invested in Holland Pump Company, the independent, US specialty pump rental and dewatering solutions provider. Holland Pump manufactures, sells, rents and services pumps and related equipment for infrastructure project dewatering and sewer by-pass, as well as for agricultural, mining, marine and other industrial applications. Holland Pump’s manufacturing and central repair facilities are in West Palm Beach, Florida and the company has branch offices in Pensacola, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Ft Myers, and West Palm Beach, Florida as well as an operation in South Carolina. “XPV shares our vision for future growth and we’re excited to leverage their vast network of industry relationships,” said Win Blodgett, president of Holland Pump Company. “After doing our due diligence with XPV, it became clear there was a good basis for a collaborative business proposition, and they were the right partner to help take us to the next level.” XPV partners with, invests in and supports water-focused growth companies. SFA Group purchases Zehnder Pumpen

he French plumbing manufacturer SFA Group, a leader in macerating and grinding toilets and parent company of Saniflo, has acquired Zehnder Pumpen GmbH, a German manufacturer of pump technology for industry, homes and gardens. “With the acquisition of Zehnder Pumpen in Grünhain-Beierfeld Saxony, SFA Group strengthens its position in the worldwide growth market of sanitary technology and ideally complements its current product portfolio,” said Stéphane Harel, member of SFA Group Management Team. “We believe 14

there are several areas of potential opportunity and synergy in acquiring Zehnder,” he continued. Zehnder Pumpen’s portfolio has more than 1000 pumps and pump systems for fresh-water supply and sewage and wastewater disposal under two brands: ZEHNDER and blueZPring. Established in 1970, Zehnder Pumpen offers pump systems, from submersible pumps and garden pumps to sewage and excrement lifting units as well as domestic pressure pumps and waterworks, to sanitary wholesalers, the pump specialist trade and professional plumbers. SFA (French Society of Sanitation) Group offers a wide range of macerators, grinders, drain-water pumps and condensate pumps for both residential and commercial applications. Zehnder Pumpen will become a whollyowned subsidiary of SFA Group but will remain a separate legal entity with its own brand. It will continue as an independent business unit within SFA Group. Sulzer launches scholarship for women in science and engineering

ulzer has announced a scholarship program directed at female students studying for degrees in engineering, technology and science. The “Sulzer Scholarship for Women in Science and Engineering” aims to support and increase the participation of women in the engineering industry. Sulzer’s overall aim is to increase the number of women working in technical professions in industry. Reflecting its presence and its business needs, Sulzer is currently initiating these scholarships in collaboration with universities in South Africa, Indonesia, China and India. Four initial scholarships will be awarded in each country. Student support is not only financial. Sulzer also offers discovery tours to visit the local facilities, learning and practice opportunities, access to Sulzer coaches and interaction with Sulzer executives, access to local industrial events and invitations to Sulzer social events.
