Xylem joins US trade mission to China

ylem Inc took part in a recent US Presidential Trade Mission to China. US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Deputy Secretary of Energy Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall led the Smart Cities – Smart Growth Business Development Mission, accompanied by representatives from 24 companies, including Xylem. The trade mission was designed to help US companies launch or increase their business operations in China for sustainable products and services, such as clean air and water technologies, smart buildings, green data centres, energy efficient technologies, waste treatment technologies, smart grid and green transportation. Chris McIntire, Xylem senior vice president and president, Analytics and Treatment and Shuping Lu, president of Xylem China, represented Xylem on the mission.

ITT celebrates Pump Appreciation Day

TT Corp’s Goulds Pumps, PRO Services and Bornemann brands observed the fourth annual Pump Appreciation Day on 14 April 2015. Pump Appreciation Day is a global event that honours pump industry professionals and promotes heart-healthy activities. In conjunction with Pump Appreciation Day, ITT presented 2015 Heart of Industry Awards to seven organizations, while eight

people have been named to the Pulse of Industry Honor Roll. The event also focuses on another pump - the human heart. For the second year, ITT’s Goulds Pumps will host a heart walk at its manufacturing locations worldwide to promote heart-healthy behaviour and to raise money to support it. All the proceeds from this year’s PumpStrong Heart Walk will be donated to the international Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Program, which is supported by the American Heart Association and its global partners. The ECC Program promotes training and adoption of proper cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods. An online World of Pumps Quiz, which tests participants’ knowledge of the pump industry and its products, attracted more than 8800 unique visitors from 117 countries in the months leading up to Pump Appreciation Day. Chesterton invests in Massachusetts

ealing specialist AW Chesterton Co has broken ground on a major expansion project at its Groveland facility in Massachusetts, USA. The expansion includes new corporate offices, a state of the art customer and employee training facility, and a large service centre covering the New England area. Once the project is completed, Chesterton’s Massachusetts employees will all be under the same roof for the first time in more than 115 years. “The resources and capabilities being incorporated in the new facility will add to our existing portfolio of knowledge backed training programs and global services and will help Chesterton continue to provide the high level support customers appreciate from Chesterton,” said Brian O’Donnell, president and CEO of Chesterton.
