Wholeness and neogeny Dr Twentyman in his editorial discusses the concept of illness and wholeness, referring to the writings of Linnaeus and Lamarck, Cuvier and Sydenham. The editorial ends with a quotation from the Czechoslovakian poet Brezina. There is a lot of stimulating thought in these two pages.

to give the indicated medicine, await news of the response and then visit if necessary. He included an instruction sheet with details of how to take the medicines, and another sheet listing the 21 medicines which he advises patients to keep in the house, with indications for their use. Such information and organization is clearly a good idea for any practice which covers a larger area than most.

Role of bowel flora in chronic disease This is a paper read by Dr John Paterson at the 1948 British Homoeopathic Congress in Glasgow, reprinted from the January 1949 issue of the British Homceopathic Journal. It is a comprehensive survey in 11 pages, including a valuable table of the bowel nosodes and their related homeeopathic medicines. It is followed by 4 pages of extracts from the ensuing discussion--evidence of much interest in the use of bowel nosodes.

A few new nodules appeared after another 12 months, and Medorrhinurn 10M was repeated. 3 years later the patient needed one more dose. 8 years later he reported no recurrence. 125 publications in a lifetime Dr Frank Bodman of Bristol retired in 1973, and the occasion was marked by recording this list of all his publications. 52 are in the

Soft tissue rheumatism At a meeting of the Faculty in October 1972 Drs L. G. C. Martin and B. S. Rose presented a dialogue on this subject. They quote 14 references to support their views. Carefully prepared debates of this nature can be valuable ways of assessing various points of view. Introducing hom~eopathy into general practice Dr R. A. E Jack contributed a paper describing his method of informing patients about homo~opathy and supplying them with a set of hom~eopathic medicines for us in emergencies and minor illnesses, preferring to discuss the situation on the telephone and to instruct how
