Adoption of the Major Elements of the APRN Consensus Model
APRN Consensus Update
Adoption of the Major Elements of the APRN Consensus Model The Consensus Model for APRN Regulation, Licensure, Accreditation, C...
Adoption of the Major Elements of the APRN Consensus Model The Consensus Model for APRN Regulation, Licensure, Accreditation, Certification, and Education was created to guide all states and jurisdictions toward uniformity. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing collects and tracks the data on the progress toward full implementation, which is targeted for 2015. This table shows the progress by each jurisdiction toward adoption of the seven major elements of the Consensus Model as of June 2014. Jurisdictions receive one point for adopting each of the seven elements in each of the APRN four roles. Thus, the best possible total score is 28. The aggregate score (1 to 4) for all four roles is shown under the first five elements listed across. For the last two elements—independent practice and independent prescribing—the table shows the breakdown by each of the four roles separately. The total score for each jurisdiction is shown at the far right. Independent Practice
