The Kalamazoo Model KS390/490 belt grinder can handle many finishing needs. The 3-hp direct• drive motor removes metal quickly at 6,900 sfpm. Air tensioning on the abrasive belt eliminates belt stretching. The 8-in. serrated contact wheel can accommodate irregular parts and the 90-in. long abrasive belt is also backed up with a 3-in. or 4-in. wide 24-in. long steel replaceable platen for flat work. Multipositional adjustment of the machine allows the operator to work at angles from hori• zontal to vertical. An optional vacuum base is available.
