Touch-screen controllers improve air dryers data collection Hi-line Industries has expanded its range of HBP-ZL absorption air dryers. Although the new-generation HBP-ZL absorption air dryers feature a Siemens touch-screen controller as standard, Hi-line can install whatever controller the customer desires. AEMS undertakes continuous data collection from the dryer operation with the aim of maintaining cost-effective timing

and utilization of the drying cycles. Moreover, the process can be optimized with precise appropriation of low-energy tariffs for the selection of heater regeneration cycles. Importantly, no compressed air is lost or wasted during operation and system regeneration is achieved by desiccant cooling together with an external heat source and bi-directional blower. www.hilineindustries.com

Filter created to target brake dust

The filter can be adapted to existing installation space in the area of the brake disc.

The brake dust particulate filter from Mann+Hummel claims to reduce the emission of particulates. Braking in city traffic creates significantly more dust than exhaust emissions. Every braking action creates brake dust through friction on the brake disc and brake pads. This mainly comprises particulates and due to the small particle size is harmful to health and the environment. The brake dust contributes considerably towards the pollution

Electric, steam, heat of recovery and solar regeneration options can be offered.

Paper pulp project focuses on water reuse The project by Jiangsu Jiuwu Hitech Co., Ltd is located in Japanese Oji Paper Co., Ltd. in China. 40000m3 of papermaking and pulp wastewater go through the system each day. The main systems include ozone-coupled biofiltering (removing COD), the integrated membrane system of ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, electrodialysis

(EDR) concentration system and MVR evaporation crystallization. The clean water is supplied to the power plant desalination system and the production water system. Waste salt is supplied to the Transportation Bureau to use as snowmelt agent and chemical raw materials. www.jiuwu-en.com/en_index.aspx

caused by particulates in road traffic. More than 90% of the brake dust consists of ultra-fine particles which have a negative effect on human health. A study from the World Health Organization came to the conclusion that 92% of humans live in areas where air pollution is above the permissible level. Mann+Hummel has therefore designed a brake dust particulate filter which substantially reduces the particulates which are created during braking. After tests on the test bench, the brake dust particulate filter is now being tested in the ‘fine dust eater’ fleet by Mann+Hummel which are close to real driving conditions. The brake dust particulate filter should be suitable for use with all types of drive ranging from electric vehicles to hybrid vehicles and conventional petrol and diesel vehicles. www.mann-hummel.com/en

Further technologies created for scalable bioprocessing Pall Corporation has added to its Allegro single-use chromatography and Cadence continuous bioprocessing product portfolios. Allegro Single-Use Chromatography System: The latest addition to the industry’s first complete, automated platform of scalable single-use solutions will be previewed during the BPI event. The single-use chromatography system design enables installation of two different sized manifolds, with a flow range of 10 to 900 L/h. In addition, the system can accommodate applications using membrane chromatography. Cadence BioSMB Process 80 System: This modular 80 liter/hour process scale continuous multi-column chromatography system has been built to support small scale process development, with perfusion bioreactor-based compatibility.

Cadence BioSMB Process 350 System: This modular 350 liter/hour process scale continuous multicolumn chromatography system has been designed for fed batch applications of up to 2000L. Cadence Virus Inactivation System: Designed to complement the Cadence BioSMB Process 80 and 350 systems, this fully automated low pH virus inactivation system can be integrated into batch, semior fully continuous processes. The Pall Life Sciences team is onsite at BPI 2017 through September 28 in booth #219 and #319. www. pall.com/ biopharm Each pro duct enables scalable process integration.
