Eriez adds extra space in Erie

E

riez has purchased a 114 000 sq ft building in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA approximately 15 miles from its world headquarters facility. The new building will house the company’s 5-Star Service Center and manufacture of Eriez’s largest equipment including metals recovery systems, column flotation cells and Hydroflow fluid filtration and recycling equipment. The expanded space will enable the company to build the equipment in-house, rather than through subcontractors. Eriez plans to move operations in by the end of 2011. “The purchase of this new building will enable us to streamline our operations by bringing several functions that are currently contract operations to one central location and add to the Eriez team,” said Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez president and CEO. Shuttleworth believes that adding manufacturing space is crucial as Eriez continues to grow. “Even during these tough times, Eriez is on an upward path, setting new records for orders and sales,” said Shuttleworth.. “Sales of our recycling industry equipment are strong and steady, due in part to the considerable investment we’ve made in the past several years to new product development, personnel, our sales organization and aggressive marketing efforts.” Eriez is also expanding its international facilities. The company’s operations in Canada and India are being moved to larger buildings and a second manufacturing plant is being added in China to meet Eriez’s growing overseas order volume.
