PALLADIUMcatalysts, based on high-silica zeolite have good isomerizing properties and may be used for hydroisomerization of low molar mass paraffinic hydrocarbons, particularl2} n-hexane. A better distribution of the metal on the catalyst surface and therefore, maximum isomerization activity is achieved by the introduction of the active component by ion exchange on freshly formed granules of the zeolite-containing carrier. The use of high-sillca zeolites permits an isomer yield of 95 7, of theory to be achieved in the range of 320~ to 360~ EQUILIBRIUM AND TtlERMODYNAMICS OF ISOMERIZATION OF HEXADIENES S. V. Petrova-Kuminskaya, O. M. Baranov, G. N. Roganov and G. Ya. Kabo, Neftekhimiya 23, No. 4, 489--494, 1983. THE equilibrium was studied and thermodynamic characteristics derived for reactions of geometric and position isomerization of n-hexadienes in the range of 473~ to 623~ The energy of conjugation in n-alkadienes was found to be practically independent of the surroundings of the system of conjugated double bonds. TRANSFORMATIONS OF BUT-1-ENE ON CALCIUM AND MANGANESE FOR.MS OF Y TYPE ZEOLITES M. N. Zhavoronkov, A. Z. Dorogochinskii and A. A. Nadirov, Ncftekhimiya 23, No. 4, 495-499, 1983. Btrr-l-ene transformations were investigated on CaNaY-84 and MnNaY-80 zeolites in the rangc 200~ to 500~ But-l-ene forms aliphatie hydrocarbons at 200"to 450~ and undergoes aromatization at 500~ while on CaNaY-84 zeolite aliphatic hydrocarbons are formed both during transformations of but-l-ene and as a result of the separation of chemisorbed condensation" products.
