SULZER ROTEQ POSTS STRONG PERFORMANCE While Sulzer Technology Corporation achieved a 6 per cent increase in 1998 operating income to SFr300 million, both sales and net inrome recorded disappointing decreases. Sales totalled SFr5876 million, which were slightly down on last year’s level of SFr6051 million. 1998 net income fell to SFr183 million from SFr214 million a year ago. Sulzer Industry’s operating income before exceptional charges increased by 67 per cent from SFrlOO milion to SFr167 million. Both companies have sigrelationships nificant with large OEMs. Illinois Machine & Tool Works, based in North Pekin, Illinois, manufactures finished machine parts for the heavy equipment, pump, valve and controls and electronic industries and is QS 9000 and IS0 9002 certified. MC Products, LLC, based in Galesburg, Illinois, manufactures finished machine parts for the heavy equipment and all other industries. The acquisitions form the foundation of Morton’s newly established Contract Machining Division.
