The office will be headed by Isao Nishida, who has worked for the Plansee Group for 13 years and has experience in molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum and niobium and their applications. “Our metals are used in a wide variety of applications,” said Isao Nishida. “Our materials are used to provide hard material coatings for tools.

Carpenter will increase the base prices at an average of 5% on new orders of these steels in all product forms. The increase was effective from April and applicable surcharges remain in effect.

Hitachi Chemical absorbs PM subsidiary Hitachi Chemical has completed its “merger by absorption” of Hitachi Powdered Metals Co Ltd (HPM), its wholly owned subsidiary. The merger will consolidate the production of powder metal products for automotive use and for chemical products including as carbon products, which had been conducted by HPM, under Hitachi Chemical. This will make it possible to
integrate sales and business planning functions, facilitate development of new products, strengthen production technology, and enhance the supply structures. Hitachi Chemical says that it will continue to strengthen and expanding its powder metal product business (including chemical products) through the supply of products, depending on customer needs.
