This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief and the author. Reason: Dr. Zhao Baowei, who is the corresponding author, has published two articles: Colloids Surf. A: Physicochem. Eng. Aspects 296 (2007) 167–173 and J. Hazard Mater. B136 (2006) 513–519 without informing one of the co-authors. Moreover, these two articles show close resemblance with a paper published in Chemosphere: “Solubilization of DNAPLs by mixed surfactant: Reduction in partitioning losses of nonionic surfactant” Chemosphere 62 (2006) 772–779. Parts of the text, tables and figures have been duplicated.
