COMING BRIEF REPORTS A New Department in the JOURNAL OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY I n the near future, the JOURNAL OF SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY will include BRIEF REPORTS of s,tudies on test validity, reliability, and correlation or research studies pertinent to school psychology, in order to publish material which cannot now be accepted because of space limitations. The following procedures should be followed for submission of BRIEF REPORTS: 1. Two copies of the BRIEF REPORT should be submitted to Professor Gilbert M. Trachtman, Department of Educational Psychology, School of Education, New York University, Washington Square, New York, 10003. (a) Manuscript must be doubled spaced and must not exceed 2x~ pages. (b) Manuscripts should follow style of the 1957 APA Publication Manual. Paragraph headings, tables or reference citations should be avoided where possible. (c) The BRIEF REPORT must be accompanied by a footnote, as follows, typed on a separate sheet and NOT counted in the page quota. An extended report of this study may be obtained without charge from (author's full name and address~) or for a fee from the American Documentation Institute. Order Document No. from ADI Auxiliary Publications Project, Photoduplication Service, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. 20540. Remit in advance $ for microfilm or $ for photocopies, and make checks payable to: Chief, Photoduplication Service, Library of Congress. 2. Two copies of the extended report should be submitted with the BRIEF REPORTS. (a) The extended report consists of a full report of the study, covering background, procedure, results, conclusions, and including all perti, nent tables and references. (b) Extended reports are prepared in the style of the 1957 APA Publication Manual except for the following variations aimed at facilitating photoduplication: (1) extended reports should be single-spaced. (2) tables and figures should be inserted as close as possible to related text, and caption should by typed below each. (3) footnotes should appear on bottom of each page rather than at end of manuscript. 3. One hundred additional copies of the extended report should be prepared by the author, to be sent without charge upon request while the supply lasts. 4. Extended reports may not be submitted to another journal for publication.
